However, in the hustle of food prep, the excitement of visiting family, and the happy burden of overflowing plates, I snapped just a handful of photos that year. It’s what I love about Thanksgiving. A very full day with little build-up or aftermath, focused on friends, family, food, and gratitude. Why put a camera between my face and the pie? If you’re planning a Thanksgiving menu, here’s some links from our archives: Carrot Hummus makes a nice, not too heavy pre-dinner nosh. For vegetarians or a first course, Three-P Soup is rich and colorful. My Thanksgiving recipe for Sweet Potato Biscuits did make it into the book. I hope family does not rebel, but I am making Squash Pull-Apart Rolls instead of biscuits this year. Finish with Sweet Potato Pie Setting a table, MAV’s style and advice is timeless. —SCB Share TWITTER FACEBOOK TUMBLR PINTEREST EMAIL
